We will always try our best to accommodate all guests who wish to join a Cape Byron Kayaks tour.

Things to consider:

  • Our tour is in the open ocean
  • It is a group tour
  • We are paddling for 1.5.-1.75hrs
  • A moderate level of fitness is required
  • Our kayaks are double kayaks and whilst we may be able to pair you with a guide this is not guaranteed without prior consultation.
  • The closest toilets to our departure point are the Byron Shire Council toilets at Clarkes Beach opposite the Beach CafĂ©.
  • Once on the water there are no toilets available until we return.
  • At the beginning, we need to communicate safety information with our guests – laminated and or personal audio instructions can be provided with prior notice.
  • We do not recommend the tour for non-swimming adults
  • There are waves that you need to paddle through/over
  • There is always a chance that guests may come out of their kayaks especially during the launch and landing in the wave zone and whilst life jackets are provided guests must be able to get themselves back into the kayak.
  • The meeting point for Cape Byron Kayaks is on Lawson Street. The tour departure point is Clarkes Beach – there is approximately 150m of track and beach to our launch point. This track changes due to coastal erosion/dune movement/weather conditions. The track is always sandy but can also be rocky and undulating – we can advise on the track conditions when you call.
